Carol Conrad

Carol Conrad

Registered Nurse Educator

Meet Carol Conrad, our Registered Nurse Educator at Parkwood Home Care! Being a Registered Nurse Educator allows her to connect with and provide education to each caregiver about dementia and the special care needed for the geriatric population.

Carol graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University (BSc), St. Martha’s (RN), and St. Francis Xavier University (BScRN). She has also received certifications in Dementia Care, Palliative Care, and a National Certification in Geriatric Nursing. Carol is a recognized Dementia Educator with the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, and she began her career at the Halifax Infirmary but spent most of her nursing years at the Veterans Memorial building within Long Term Care. Having gained proficiency in psychiatry and the Geriatric Clinic, she returned to her calling of providing long-term care for elderly patients.

She demonstrated a profound enthusiasm for seniors from an early age as she was blessed to have four grandmothers. Her one grandmother in particular was her original inspiration; a war bride full of life and songs who inspired many around her with sheer joyfulness. After a remarkable 32-year career in nursing, Carol has found her new home with Parkwood Home Care. She imparts knowledge to our caregivers about dementia and geriatric care while spending time at the homes of our clients—where she continues following her passion for providing care.

In her free time, Carol enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, children, and husband.

“It is my pleasure to bring my 32 years of experience to Parkwood Home Care as both a caregiver and a Registered Nurse Educator.”
